We have been blessed with the same tools that Christ had (the Holy Spirit of God) to overcome the struggles that come to us in life. Always remember that God is there for you at all times! Lyrics to one of my favorite songs, "I will bless the Lord at all times, cause Hes good!" It just reminds me to take confidence in God and trust in Him!!!
~The Stage~
Raham, was what he was called,
And yet he cared not for their applauds.
Raham was tormented in his sleep,
His heart he felt buried six feet deep...
Frantic, around him he cries,
“Where is the one who would bring life to my eyes!?”
Surrounded again, tormented by his kin,
Does he amount to just this? Is this the end?
His kin were not his brothers of men,
But they were the chosen, redeemed again.
However this wasn't enough to be “called” special,
To feel he was needed, a place for his head to nestle.
A rat has a nest, and an eagle it’s perch,
Yet here HE stood forced to search.
Called to a life as this, was he destined?
Knowing the answer... not meaning to offend...
But he can’t help but wonder, while in this state,
Why must he suffer, whose the one to choose this fate?
Raham’s life beat behind a white cage,
Pulsing through him, greatest role on the grandest stage.
To feel as a man, but to know so much more....
To complete this role would provide no encore.
Raham was more than actor, more than the stage,
His name brought meaning, by his actions was he gauged.
He came for one purpose, infinite in his finitude,
Only he could do it, he impossible to exclude.
The role was still hard, and Raham’s thoughts swirled,
To become Ahab.... hunting a whale of a world.
However, Ahab’s meaning in this plight,
Was not frivolous, nor trifling, in the Author’s sight.
He transitioned his mind to prepare for the curtain,
The march of the orchestra signaled Ahab’s burden.
His script was clear, seven lines to pray,
Raham or Ahab, who would he portray?
He takes a deep breath, preparing solemnly,
Saying one thing, “let Your will be done in me.”
Finally his mind was clear,
Ahab was ready to face the crowd’s spear.
For so long others had failed, completed diminished...
But now it was time to say, “It is finished.”
~Walter “Deuce” Windham
Raham is Hebrew for "brotherly love" and Ahab is the love that describes God's love for us. This poem is about Christ's struggle with his humanity before his death. (as you will read in Luke 22). It talks about his transition from ministry (being his Raham for his people -brotherly love) to dieng (and becoming Ahab for his people, the love that covers all). I chose the Hebrew word for love because In the NT we read that God is love. (1 John 4) and I felt it was appropriate to use the language God gave His people. Christ's struggle with humanity reminds us that even He faced fear, confusion, doubt and pain and overcame them.
We have been blessed with the same tools that Christ had (the Holy Spirit of God) to overcome the struggles that come to us in life. Always remember that God is there for you at all times!
