Seeing God in everything
Quick question. Where do you go when you want to see and talk to God? Church? Maybe a small group? Pastor's house?
What if I told you, that if you wanted to see and hear God, you didn't have to move from where you're sitting?
There is a concept I didn't get in my spirit until years after I had found God. The evidence of who He is surrounds us, and His ear can hear us no matter where we are. There is an author by the name of Bob Sorge who wrote a book entitled "Secrets of the Secret place". To enter into the secret place, we must first unlock the door to the refuge. To do this, we need a key, and our key is prayer.
Psalms 91:1
"He that dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the most Almighty."
David struggled in his life. He hard a hard time getting many things "right", but one thing he consistently worked on and succeeded at was prayer. His communication with God was always open, and he was constantly working on his relationship with Him. This is a man who killed multiple giants (Goliath wasn't the only one!), led great armies, had a beautiful family and kingdom. He was a MANS MAN.
The Psalms were written during different points of life. Some Psalms David is on the run, living in caves, some are during his worship, some at home. Yet in all these places, David sought God. No matter where David was, he knew that God was always there.
Psalms 139:8-10
"Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me."
What made David a man after God's own heart? Well, he literally was. He constantly sought God, everywhere and in anything. He saw God's handiwork in the trees, the animals, the sky, the people around him and couldn't deny the existence of such an incredible force that wanted him (David) in His(God) life.
No one can mentor you into an abiding relationship with Christ. We all have to find our own way to abiding in Christ. When all is said and done, we must shut the door, get into the secret place with God, and discover what an abiding relationship with Christ will look like for ourselves.”

He sees you as His everything, now you just have to see Him in yours.
