Standing Strong when you feel so Weak
Life has many struggles, many things we all must face and deal with. With these coming trials we are faced with the looming and difficult question, "how can i make it through this?" Maybe its just me, but it seems that after every trial I successfully overcome and make it through, there is an even larger and harder one appearing within days sometimes. At work, at School, at Home, there is an attack in someplace of your life that requires you to act. You can either press through and make it, or you can give up. In these situations it becomes easy to take the easy decision and give up, but know that that is NOT what God wants you to do!
Things I wish to impart to you to remember during these struggles are these, the power to overcome is not your own, but Gods. Your strongest, when your the weakest. And that Christ victory is not limited.
1.) The power to overcome is not your own
Even though I have not been a Christian as long as some people, I already have found some difficulties that many life-long Christians have. Trusting God and letting Him handle your hardest situations. Human beings have this determination to do things our own way. Especially when, concerning God, we just don't "Feel" that tangible, real, physical help being there. However, the Word says God is always with us,
Joshua 1:9
"Have i not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
We have to remember that God is here for us, and is willing to help us. Now, the next question, Hes here but how does He give me the power to overcome? God gives us His spirit.
1 John 4:4
"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."
2 Corinthians 5:5
"Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come."
God is your power, and as sons and daughters He has equipped you to succeed in Him.
2.) You're strongest, when you're at your weakest
Now, tell me if this makes sense or not? Im strongest when i'm weakest? That is what the Word of God says!
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
"But He(God) said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I(Paul) will boast all the more gladly of my weakness, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Paul here offers us a very intriguing thought. In our struggles, in our weakness, God is made strong because we allow God to be the victory... instead of us? Incredible isn't it? So not only does God give you the power, He is the one that uses it, meaning you don't have to do it by your own means, He has the victory all on His own. We must always remember that.
3.) The Victory of Christ is not limited
I had an interesting conversation with a man of God i truly respect and admire. He asked me, "when you think of what was provided for at the cross, what do you see?"
My obvious answer was, "salvation"
But this man of God said something that caught me off guard, he said, "thats whats wrong with people in the church. The cross did not just pay for our salvation, but for our healing, our deliverance, everything that requires victory was won there."
Ever since that day I have made it a point to press to my Christian brothers and sisters that we have the victory in every situation we can come across. Every hardship, sickness, bondage, in one form or another, whether quickly or slowly, leads to death. But victory is over death, 1 Corinthians 15:54.
It is put so eloquently, "Death is swallowed up in victory"
Be glad that God is faithful to you always, and remember that in His Love, His power, His strength you are victorious, and STRONG!
Stand Strong when you feel Weak, because in God you will never be stronger
